PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Jinks overcame a depleted lineup and injuries to key players Thursday night, grinding out a 14-6 victory over Breakfast Point to earn its third consecutive win and keep its championship hopes alive. The Hornets entered the matchup without multiple starters, including standout playmakers Aydann Copeland and Khamari Boles. Quarterback Javion Thomas also battled a shoulder injury and cramping, limiting his effectiveness and forcing Jinks to adjust its offensive approach against a Breakfast Point team enjoying a resurgence this season. Despite the adversity, Jinks found a way to get the job done, with Cameron Potter stepping into a major role offensively. Potter completed 10 of 13 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown while adding 76 rushing yards on five carries. He finished with 217 total yards and two touchdowns, providing a major spark for the Hornets when they needed it most. Marley Olds emerged as another key contributor, hauling in six receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown. Thomas, playing through injury and taking on a different role, contributed 74 rushing yards and a touchdown on five carries while also catching three passes for 50 yards. With Thomas lining up at running back and receiver rather than quarterback, the Hornets relied on their versatility and adjusted their game plan to compensate for the absence of key playmakers. Robert West added seven carries for 10 yards. Defensively, the Hornets delivered when it mattered, holding Breakfast Point to just six points. Jackson King led the way with six tackles and an interception, while Tank Jenkins, Kacyn Benson and Julian Matos each recorded four tackles, helping Jinks make critical plays on both sides of the ball. The 14-6 victory was a testament to the Hornets' depth and resilience. With several starters unavailable and Thomas limited by injury, Jinks leaned on players in expanded roles and found a way to secure a hard-earned win against a Breakfast Point program enjoying a stronger season. The win gives Jinks three consecutive victories following its loss to Rutherford and moves the Hornets another step closer to their goal of six straight wins and a championship-game berth. With the season entering a critical stretch, Jinks will look to carry its momentum forward as it continues its push toward the championship.
